THE PROJECT

One marriage. Ten years. 120 intentional journals.

Marriage, Off Record is structured as a 10-year marriage-journal project by Marcus & Michela Byrd-Ray. The master concept calls for 120 journals total—one 30-day journal every 30 days—with each installment building on the one before it rather than repeating the same questions.

Foundation journalJournal #1 — 30 Days: Choose Us Again

Journal #1 establishes the format: daily themes, His Journal, Hers Journal, Discuss Together prompts, loving challenges, weekly check-ins, end-of-month reflection, letters to each spouse, and a signed marriage commitment.

TEN-YEAR ARC

Years 1–2

Heal, reconnect, rebuild and strengthen trust, communication, emotional safety, boundaries, intimacy and partnership.

Years 3–4

Grow together and deepen the bond through dreams, finances, parenting, purpose, friendship, intimacy, identity and legacy.

Years 5–6

Define the long view, protect progress, prepare for changing seasons, and build systems that help the marriage stay strong under pressure.

Years 7–8

Expand joy, creativity, adventure, mutual support and mature companionship while turning lived experience into deeper wisdom.

Years 9–10

Cherish the history, celebrate growth, document the distance traveled, and prepare the next chapter with a clear record of the relationship’s evolution.

Archive Value

The full collection becomes a decade-long record of what changed, what healed, what remained difficult, and how trust, communication, friendship and partnership evolved.

Project positioning: This is a publishing and relationship-journal project, not therapy or mental-health treatment.
